Early Years

The early years classes are for the youngest students at Brunswick SDS.  Students commencing school are usually placed in one of the early years groups.  Programs for early years focus on introducing children to the routine of school, communication, providing skills in necessary self care  and teaching beginning skills at literacy and numeracy.  Students are also guided in gaining appropriate social skills. Classes of 4 to 5 students work under the supervision of a teacher and a teacher assistant in each group.  Staff working with these groups have expertise in early childhood learning.
